PAYPAL is not interested in helping

Friday one of my employees asked me to charge airplane tickets for him so he could see his dying mother . One of the choices was Paypal and I regrettably took it. Paypal said that they would take x dollars from my paypal balance and the rest from my checking account. Yesterday (Tuesday)  someone ordered a item that I listed on eBay. They paid with paypal.

The airline charge hit after that. Paypal not only took what I agreed for them to take, they took what the new customer sent me and took less from my checking account.

I can not print a UPS shipping label because my paypal balance is zero. I have to now go to UPS and pay for this shippment and not get the discount.

I called Paypal ask how that this could be fixed. They have no idea what customer service is. Three people including the head supervisor (Harvey 41946) told me that that is the way it is and if I did not like it, it is my choice not to use paypal.

Another sad case of how saving money by using a calling center in Malaysia will inevitably cost you customers in the long run.   I refuse to use international calling centers as the language gap should not be there.

I am sorry that your questions weren't answered to your satisfaction.

It sounds like the purchase you made was an "order". An order is an agreement between a buyer and a merchant for a purchase of a specified amount.  The status of an order is "pending" until it expires, is completed or has been voided and merchant's have the ability to "capture" the order amount at any point until it expires.

I understand that this process had caused you an inconvenience and apologize. I am happy to pass on your feedback.
