I can't figure out how to implement shipping costs

I'm using Paypal to sell items that will be shipped. As best as I can determine, I've followed every prescribed step to set things up. But, no matter how many times I try, I can't figure out how to set up shipping costs for the items. I follow the steps as they're explained. But, when the orders for the items come in, they money for the items is there, but the shipping costs are not included.

Can anyone direct me to where I can find clear and understandable instructions on how to set up the sale of items and have the process include shipping calculations?

First, suggest reading the user guide listed below as it clearly explains how to setup a shipping method and use the shipping override variables if applicable.

Unfortunately we have no idea of how you have your item buttons coded or what you account profile shipping method configuration looks like.
