Thanks for the link. I realized what the issue was. I'm using a free Microsoft Live site and it uses frames by default I think -- so there were issues with using _self, just as there are in iFrames. So if you're using the templates provided, you can't use the _self option.

So I just put the shopping cart on a page off the site, and that worked.

Thanks again!

There's no "continue shopping" on my shopping cart, so I just made those changes of putting "_self" instead of "paypal" and cleared cookies, etc.

Still nothing.  Here's the url to my "one page test site"... it's just one page with two image map hotspots...

the "add to cart" is on the pink explosion in the "pop", and the "view cart" is on the "click anywhere" box.

(Sorry, but it's just for having a page to test the two links. I didn't know I would be having anyone look at it.)

Thanks in advance for taking a look.

* The page that I've got typed into the &shopping_url=  isn't online anywhere yet, but the "continue shopping" button would still show up in the cart, wouldn't it?  There would just be no page to go to when you click it.

Just tested your link.   As your shopping cart is empty, you will not see a Continue Shopping button.   Right now what you have on your demo page is a View Cart button however, since there's nothing to add to the cart, the cart will show empty and you will NOT see a Continue Shopping button.  This is by design and there are no features or options to change this behavior.

Go to this link, once on the page, click on the View Cart button, you will see the same results.

Hey skier, thanks for that info about the empty cart not having a"continue shopping" button.

But I was hoping you would click the "add to cart" button which is in the "pink explosion" in the POP logo...

When I click it and it puts an item in the cart, there's still no "continue shopping" button anywhere.

Here's my "add to cart" code:

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_cart&business=my email&item_name=Bibletoons Coloring Book New Testament Book&amount=26.00&add=1&return=my url&shopping_url=http://my url&cancel_return=my url&shipping=.00&shipping2=.00&currency_code=USD&lc=US" &target="_self">

*I had to take out my real urls and e-mail address to post this.

I just went back and "viewed the cart" and it was empty, even though I had added an item half an hour ago.

So I just clicked "add to cart" and there is only that one item just added, and still no "continue shopping."

I then went back and clicked on "view cart" again, and the cart is empty again!

The html had "xclick" instead of _cart.

This is another topic, but in case someone want to reply= why does PayPal log me out every time I leave the forum for a minute or so? I spend all my time logging back in, just to do one more thing or look something up... and since my satellite connection isn't very fast, my whole day can be spent waiting, waiting, waiting for PayPal... which is the slowest site I've ever been on.

Another question for skier: Are you a support person, or a regular human with lots of time to help us poor idiots?

The reason I ask is that you seem to be the only person that ever replies. Does PayPal even HAVE moderators or support people on the forums... or in fact, anywhere?

I'm a real person who happens to have a bit of real world hands-on working knowledge which can sometimes be dangerous.   I'm not a PayPal employee, just a volunteer.

PayPal does have a few folks who monitor the forum however, the forum was basically intended for folks to help each other.
