Buyer claims they didn't receive product, USPS says otherwise, what can I do?

I sold a textbook on half.com and sent the book out on the 6th. I have the shipping code and everything and it says it was delivered on the 11th. She emailed me yesterday saying she didn't receive the book, I emailed her back to make sure I had the correct address which I did.

She now says she will dispute the charge and try to get her money back. What can I do? The shipping code said it was delivered on the 11th and I sent out other books around that time that have received no complaints.

Your probably SOL, you need insurance and a signiture.

USPS probably just scanned the package, and drop it off...god knows where.

While paypal doesnt require a signiture, credit card companies do...

I say that if there is a shipping code that confirms delivery and receipt of the product by someone, the buyer cannot claim non-receipt as you have a way to track the product.

When the buyer submits the claim, paypal will ask for the tracking number which you have, case closed.  Even if lets say the post office dropped it off in the front door, it was delivered.  You have proof of delivery which is what will help you win the case.  These buyers think they can outsmart everything, they will claim not receipt, while having the product in their hand and be warranted a refund by paypal.  So now the seller looks like a fool because Paypal tends to favor the buyer, you are out of money and out of the item, what a scam!!

I am going through something similar but have no tracking number since I did not get delivery confirmation or insurance on it, the buyer opted not to add insurance when checking out on paypal so what was I supposed to do, buy it and absorb the cost anyways?  9 out of the 12 packages I mailed that were already confirmed having been received by other buyers, lets see how this goes.

I am telling you, so many loopholes in the Paypal and Ebay system, its hard to keep faith.

DO NOT ISSUE THEM A REFUND!!! The same exact thing is happening to me..These are scam artists..they say they never received it when I have a tracking number that says otherwise..they not only get the item, but they also get their money back because half.com is sooooooo stupid they are allowing this to happen!!!!! If you have a tracking number and it says it was delivered do not allow them to do it!!!!

AND Not only that...if EBAY.com is going to be affiliated with HALF.com then they need to handle the phone calls as well...when I called ebay to complain they said I had to call half.com, which of course says to send an email if you have a problem!!! There is not an actual person you can speak with!!!

When you say the "shipping code", do you mean the DC number?

If so, and if the item price + shipping was less than $250.00, the buyer will lose the dispute.

Well, if the DC number shows that the item was delivered ( not shipped, delivered), then you'll win.
