Hi

Somehow on an eay listing an old email address appeared as my paypal payment method. This has led to the payment sitting as "pending". How can I reverse this and give the uyer the right paypal account to pay with?

Any help gratefully received

Thanks

Jamie

Hi, I have just seen your message because I was looking for help solving the same problem. I have sold 3 items and didn't notice until they were sold and 2 had been paid for that ebay had used an old email address. When I double checked my registered info with ebay they had the correct email address. How does this happen?. Now I have 3 payments that have been made and they are all being held because the email address doesn't match the up to date one that pay pal has. Did you get any one responding with helpful info as to how to resolve this?

Hi guys,

When you are listing an item for sale on your eBay account, the system may select any of the email addresses that are active on your account or that may have been used in the past. You should try to check this in future in order to try and make sure that it doesn't happen again and you should not incur this issue in future.

Here’s how to find the email address you used in your eBay listing:

  1. Go to http://www.ebay.com/and log in to your account.
  2. Click ‘My eBay’ at the top of the page.
  3. Click ‘Sold’ under ‘Activity’.
  4. Click the item you sold.
  5. Click ‘Sell a similar item’.

The email address you used in your listing is under ‘Decide how you’d like to be paid’.

If you have access to the email address that the payment has been sent to, you can add and confirm the email address on your PayPal account and you should receive your money within a few hours.

If you don't have access to the email address, you would need to contact your buyer directly and ask them to cancel the payment from their account. When they cancel the payment, they can resend the funds to your correct email address using the Send Money tab from their PayPal account. From here, they can then send the funds directly to your correct email address.

I hope this helps,

David.
