I sold an item and my customer wanted to return. So i provided the return address.

After a couple of days the customer phoned to ask if it had been received to which i replied 'No'. I looked at the tracking number that they provided and it had been signed for by a person who we dont know. So.... i phoned the courier company up and asked them to look into it. They told me that the address that was on the parcel had ommitted an important part of the address i gave to them i.e (.Unit ?, .........Business Park, Road Name, Town, County, Postcode.). The courier company had told me  that the business park name was not on the parcel so it was delivered to Unit ..., Road Name, Town, County etc.....so the parcel is now somewhere else. Who is at fault here please, is this person likely to win a case for a full refund even though i haven't received the goods back?

Thank you

If the buyer opens a dispute against you and escalates it to a claim you need to inform paypal that whilst you gave the correct addy details the  buyer sent it to the wrong details.

There is no guarantee that paypal will find in your favour, i think they should do.

Is there anyway that you can call around to the address the parcel was sent to and pick it up?

Or could you pop a letter in the post to that address she sent the parcel to and give them your tel number to sort something out?

Thank you for your quick reply. If only it was that easy......:-(

I advised the customer to send directly to the warehouse which is 3 1/2 hours drive away from me otherwise i would do. The thing is ive been informed by the courier that as the customer omiited to put the business park name on the parcel they have attempted to go up and down a road name provided and attempted to find the unit number (courier have said there are no unit numbers on the buildings on this road. The depot have kindly helped and used their gps tracker device and told me it was at 'PLACE A' so i rung them up and they said it was definately not delivered there. (because he was on duty that day and he didnt sign for any parcel nor is his name thats showing on the tracking proof.

Just to put things clearer its like trying to deliver a parcel to Mr A N Other, Unit Number, ROAD NAME, Town, County. Postcode when the correct address should be

Mr A N Other, Unit Number, Business Park, Road Name, Town, County, Postcode.
