Hi,
As stated in the subject I think I have been caught by a scammer as I have just recieved an email from PayPal concerning a recent transaction saying it has come to their attention that the payment may have been unauthorised.
To give some background I had a pair of expensive shoes up for sale (£250) for UK delivery only but they were bought by a seller in Latvia who contacted me asking if I would deliver. Initally I said no but they then pointed to their 100% Ebay feedback so I relented if they paid the high postage fees for tracked delivery. However as they had already bought the shoes via ebay (but not paid) I couldnt work out how to change the cost in ebay to add the increased postage fees.
We agreed I would raise an invoice in PayPal for the total cost (Shoes+Postage) which they then paid. They asked me to ship the items to an address that was different to that recorded in PayPal which I refused to do(they said they couldnt change the address in their paypal), so in the end they relented and said just ship to the registered address and they would pick them up from there.
I shipped via RM recorded and signed for and supplied them the tracking number; the next day I recieved the email from PayPal alerting me to the 'unauthorised' payment - feels to me like that have managed to avoid paying by Ebay (so I can't leave negative feedback) and have now said that the payment wasnt authorised.
Obviously I have all the email communication from them and if I have shipped to the authorised PayPal address if the Payment wasnt authorised then the recipent should just return the item.......but something tells me this isnt going to go well.
Any advice gratefully appreciated; I would like to be able to put my side (and show the evidence) to PayPal but I can't seem to find the best way to do that.

If it was unauthorised then it means an account holders paypal account has been hacked and used without their consent by ? your buyer.
They often use hijacked or throwaway Ebay i.d's.
If paypal finds this is true then of course the account holder gets their funds back BUT you would be reimbursed if you met ALL the requirements of seller protection.........so your best bet is to read up to make sure you did and also respond to any paypal enquiries promptly.
Also did you know that you have not been able to leave negative feedback for buyers on Ebay for years now. Only sellers can receive negative feedback, buyers can only get positive feedback or none at all.
Good luck.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
