Fraud

So I have recently been the victim of fraud. So I bought a pandora bracelet of gumtree and the person selling the item told me I can pay via paypal but could I please send the payment as family and friends. So i thought Im covered by paypal so why not. Then it turns out the person is a fraudster and after 5 days had not posted out the items and when I message him he is verbally abusive to me. So I phoned paypal and low and behold they say I am not  protected by paypal as i didnt send it as a purchase. I asked if they will investigate this person and they say there needs to be more than one person complain about him. So basically a big fat no. So i called my bank explained what happened and they said they can recall the money. I thought great this person is not going to get away with it. Then a couple of days later my paypal account goes into a negatitive balance. So i phoned paypal again and they say its because the payment was declined I explained again to paypal and they were not interested. Told paypal I have reported this person to the fraud action team and gave paypal the ref number, still not interested. About 2 weeks later I get a call from paypal saying im in a negative balance and I need to make payment. Explained that I will not be making payment and the reason why. The person I spoke to told me clearly if i did not make payment into the account that a debt recovery agency will be intouch to recover the money from me. I feel this is a threat from paypal to pay the money that i do not owe. So i am writing this to get peoples attention so if anyone has been the victim of this person or anyone else let me know and we need to stand up to paypal to know they can not get away with this. I have all the evidence to prove this person is a scam artist but paypal are not listening

Of course paypal are not listening why should they.

If you send a gift to a family member or a friend via the personal payments option then you would not need buyer protection as you are not buying goods.

If YOU CHOOSE to select that option for buying goods then you not only assist the seller in not paying their seller fees for selling BUT you negate any paypal buyer protection you would have had if you had paid using the goods option.

So why should paypal be prepared to sort out your mistake???????????

Very clear that you are working on behalf of paypal. And if you would have read it properly, if I would have known I was not protected then I wouldn't have done that. Paypal should make it very clear that they are not protected. If you do not have anything helpful to say or supportive, don't comment on here as I'm not interested what paypal has to say any more, I don't take being threatened very well

Because i disagree with you i must be working for paypal? Very original i don't think.

No i don't work for paypal, i am an ebay buyer and seller.

Before buying i read up on buyer protection. Before selling i read up on seller protection.

But i did not need to read up on EITHER to know that if i was not paying a family member OR a mate then I would not use that option............not exactly rocket science is it? Surely you know who your family members and mates are??

I can reply, when and how often I want to. I'm afraid you can't post a thread and state "please only post if you agree with me".

I am not being supportive you are quite correct, I just give facts as i see them and the facts are that you are blaming paypal for your OWN mistake.

I said if I knew then I wouldn't have done it. How is that blaming paypal? I said paypal need to be more clearer in there display of rules. And paypal could look into it. Like I said they will if there was more than one person reported him. I'm not the sort of person to roll over so if that means I have to post messages on here to gain awareness or find other people then I will. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't post on here as I'm not interested in you and your abrupt manner. Im here to find other people If there are any that have been scammed by this person. So back off I'm really not in the mood for people like you, who get a smile on their face from being the people that you are.

I said if I knew then I wouldn't have done it

But if they were not a family member or a friend why would you select that option?

How is that blaming paypal?

Maybe because you said this >>>>>>>>>>.

""let me know and we need to stand up to paypal to know they can not get away with this. I have all the evidence to prove this person is a scam artist but paypal are not listening""

I have to post messages on here to gain awareness or find other people then I will.

Awareness of the fact you made a mistake???

If you don't have anything nice to say then don't post on here as I'm not interested in you and your abrupt manner

so you are allowed to be abrupt blaming paypal for your mistake but don't like it when others point out the facts??

Im here to find other people If there are any that have been scammed by this person

but as you sent her a "gift" and not a payment for "goods" you were not scammed.

So back off I'm really not in the mood for people like you, who get a smile on their face from being the people that you are.

Really? when i have probably saved more people on here from being conned by scammers than you EVER will. But as you were not scammed, you sent a person a gift thats a moot point from you.
