Paypal recently limited my account and asked for photo id and proof of address. I have sent those but keep messaging back telling me it does not contain the correct information.  What exactly is the information does it require?

So far I have sent:

Photocard driving licence, 2 page bank statement, 3 page utility bill, two page credit card statement, a letter of authorisation on company headed paper, and a further letter on company headed paper detailing precisely the details of the name change, the email address and telephone number, all of which have been rejected and stating that they do not contain the requested information.

 

I do not understand what they are asking of me. I have sent four emails through to their customer service staff, none of which have gotten any reply over the last three days.

I would suggest to speak to them over the phone. We can be of little help in the forums with this case, because each case is different. only paypal themselves can tell you what the problem is here, unfortunately.

Are you trying to do a name change or what is it that you are trying to do that requires that info?

I upgraded to a business account and foolishly have my name as the business name, and the busienss name as my name. 

Consiquently they require information to confirm a connection between "my previous name" and my actual name. It's quite clear that "XYZ Ltd" is not my name, yet they have told me they require documentation to prove it. Everything I have sent to them is rejected as the "document does not contain the information we require".

 

They have had three bank statements, my driving licence, two credit card statements, two letters on company headed paper specifically detailing the issue, stating "both" names, explainng why it needs to be changed etc. I can not get the limitation removed. I have also compeltely filled the space PayPal give to upload documents, there is less than 4kb of free space left, so I can't upload anything else, and every time I resubmit I get the same message back within a few hours:

 

 

 

"We'll ask you to provide copies of the following documents:
 
• A copy of a valid photo ID for the new contact name (a driver's license, a passport, or any other government-issued photo identification)
• A letter on company stationery showing:
   - current and new contact name
   - reason for the change
   - any of the email addresses added to the account
   - postal address and phone number on the account
 
We don't accept files that are sent as email attachments. If you email us attachments, we'll still require you to upload or fax your documents. Here's how:
 
1. Click 'Upload Documents'.
2. Choose the file you want to upload and click 'Upload your documents'.
3. Click 'Send your documents'.

Have you tried sending your birth certificate or marriage certificate and then a document that proves your business name?

 

If you have then I would personally put all what you have written on here in a concise message and send it to  >>

 

Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter.

You can send them a personal message from their facebook or twitter pages.

You could phone them but sometimes sending it as per above gives them time to read and digest.

 

But if you want to phone then click on ''help and contact'' bottom of every paypal page and use the  phone option.

I've sent them everything I have. I had to go to the bank to get a statement printed as I have virtually everything paperfree. 

I'll try your suggestion, thank you, and see if that gets me anywhere, otherwise I'm pretty much left with issuing a county court hearing to get my money returned to me, plus court costs.

Hi! What happened to your appeal? Any updates?

 

This also is happening to us at this very moment. Our Profile Name is the same as our Business Name. We have submitted a Photo ID, Utility Bill and a letter from the company requesting for our Profile Name to be changed. But it has been a week and our account is still limited and we got the same response from email requiring more documents to be submitted. We are just a start-up company and these processes are new to us. Can you also help us with this matter?
