I have only made online clothing purchases through Paypal. However, I am selling a furniture through Gumtree. The buyer wants my Papal account. Is there danger of them taking money out even once deposited (and furniture picked up by them), or any other unscrupulous activity, shariing information of my account to organisations without my knowlwdge, or getting into the bank account that the Paypal account is linked to.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Firstly NEVER use paypal for items that are collected or personally delivered, you have NO seller protection and without a ''tracking number'' would lose an item not received claim. Tell them CASH ON COLLECTION ONLY.
Secondly I strongly suspect that you may be being targeted by this SCAM >> read through so you are forewarned in case it turns out to be so.
They encourage you to use paypal and often offer you a good price with no haggling.
You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't.
It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.
If the item requires shipping they will send you a FAKE email that looks as if its from paypal telling you that the buyer has paid but they are holding the funds until you pay the shipping agent / courier via western union / moneygram BEFORE the funds are released to you.
They are not interested in the item, they just want the western union etc funds and you will never see money in your paypal balance.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
