Pending transaction

Hi all,

 

  I am having the absolute worst customer experience with a payment that I made on paypal.

 

  I paid $108USD to a seller who I know well, and who I have paid before.

 

  My payment was immediately marked as 'pending' and I was told "The payment you sent is currently being reviewed and we will complete this process within 72 hours."

 

  It has now been 144 hours. So twice the time promised. I have made multiple calls to paypal, and they refuse to do anything to solve the problem.

 

  The most recent promise that they have failed to deliver on, was Friday's promise of 'We will raise a ticket about this and you will get a response within 72 hours'. That hasn't happened. 

 

  I have also had terrible service through their twitter page - on Friday (4 days ago), they promised to connect me to a specialist 'as soon as possible'. I am still waiting.

 

  Why do paypal keep promising me things that they subsequently do not deliver? I have no access to the money tied up in this transaction, and I don't have my item.

 

  What gives?
