Money **bleep** been refunded to an account that does not exist

I booked two tickets with my visa debit card but had to cancel so Nottinghem Arena refunded me to my paypal account (dont know why when I paid with debit card) and the refund as been forwarded to an account ending in 5972. The tickets were booked on a card endining in 0947. Anybody got any clues on whats happened here.

If they used the 'refund' option then the refund would go back to the card that you used to pay.
