Limitation due to name change

Hi My PayPal account has been limited for over 4 years. I tried to change my name when I got married. I sent proof of marriage, photo ID and proof of address. This was 4 years ago. Although the ID was received etc I still couldn't use my account. I gave up. On Tuesday, I tried to use my account and again it said it was limited. I received an email in September asking me to send photo ID in the name registered to my account (my maiden name). Which I don't have as I've been married for 6 years. I rang PayPal on Tuesday to ask what can be done. The operator was apologetic, told me he would escalate it for me and to look out for an email. Later that night I received the same email asking for photo ID in my maiden name. What can be done?

Hey Emma McG1,
I guess they need anything official with your maiden name on it.
This could be a signed document from something like a civil registry office or a county clerk.
Maybe they would accept your birth certificate?
If your ID card doesn't show your old and your new name it might be the only chance.
Otherwise make a new Paypal account with a new email address and forget your old account.

Best regards

Thanks Face I sent them my marriage certificate in 2013. This has both names on. As well as my passport. I can't close this account whilst it is limited and therefore can't open a new one as my cards and bank account are linked. I'm really at a loss!

I could be wrong but if you gave Paypal your marriage license 2 yrs after the marriage, it could be too old of a document to be still valid for Paypals purposes or validation process, to use it to verify your old name I mean.
