At the end of August I received an e-mail which offered $25 Gift Cards from Kiva for $5 as a 'thank you' for my previous donations to the organisation. I bought 10 cards to give to friends to encourage them to donate to Kiva and they cost me a total of $50. The money went via PayPal to the address Espace 2000. I have not received the cards and now realise this must be a scam.
I'm writing this to warn people who may be sent this 'offer' and also to find out if I can expect any recompense from PayPal. £40-odd is not a huge amount of money to lose in the great scheme of things but I would rather it had gone to Kiva than to some thief.
