Closing my deceased son's paypal account

Why do I have to fax info to Paypal to close my deceased son's paypal account when email would be so much easier and quicker? I don't have a fax machine. When I tried to get a shop to fax the info the Paypal line was always busy and I can't spend all day in a shop waiting for the Paypal fax number to be free! I phoned Paypal and they were to phone me back within 5 to 8 minutes. It's now 4 days later and I'm still waiting to for the phone call!!! It's stressful enough over my son's death without Paypal being so difficult.

Paypal's obstinacy about having to fax to them is unreasonable in my opinion plus their failure to phone me back is discourteous in the extreme in my circumstances. Why does it have to be fax - what's wrong with email! Or even snail mail!

Surely other people have encountered this situation? How did they get on?

Why can't Paypal get their act together? I want to close my deceased son's Paypal account but I don't know anything about it. I've phoned Paypal and they told me to fax them various documents. I've told them on the phone that I don't have a fax machine and have no access to fax facilities. Twice agents have told me on the phone that I should email the documents explaining that I'm using email because I can't use fax. I've done that twice and each time Paypal have emailed me to say I shouldn't use email but it must be by fax. It's like Groundhog Day!

Do Paypal not give a **bleep** about their customers the way I've been treated. I'm at my wit's end and don't know what to do to get Paypal to do something about it. Having to cope with a sudden death is bad enough but dealing with Paypal is the pits. Anybody else had this experience?
