Is paypal.com a valid Paypal sight?  I no sooner completed a purchase and they were asking me for personal and banking information.

PayPal's official website is PayPal.com. If you elected to create a PayPal account in the process of a checkout, most likely we would request the banking information that you'd like linked to the account. However, if you're concerned you can always report a website or any email communications that seem suspicious to spoof@paypal.com so the appropriate team can review the information.
