Problem with your PayPal account
 
 

We recently reviewed your account and suspect that your PayPal account may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party. Protecting the security of your account and of the PayPal network is our primary concern therefore we have temporarily limited access to sensitive PayPal account features.

To restore your account access please take the following steps to ensure that your account has not been compromised:

I've rec'vd the same email twice as well, and have yet to hear back from Paypal. It is scary because it DOES use my full name in the address AND they've sent it twice. Would really like a response from our PP Overlords!

the reason I picked up on it is because it came the first time into an e-mail account unrelated to my pay pal account. I just don't know why PayPal doesn't respond or notify their customers of this dangerous scam

Yes, that email is a phishing email. If there's an actual problem with your PayPal account, we'll tell you to log into your account to resolve the issue, not click on a link.  I am somewhat amused at a "Data Security and Encryption Page" though.

 

Did you both forward the emails to spoof@paypal.com?  If you did and didn't get a response, I apologize. They're usually pretty good about letting you know quickly that it's not a legitimate email.

 

FYI- I did remove the links on the email, just so no one can accidentally click on there and get in trouble.
