Does this infuriate anyone else as much as it does me? Ebay increases their final value fee's to an average of 9%, then PayPal which is owned by eBay is taking 5% from you on the payment transfer! This is ridiculous. Sacrificing nearly 15% of your money to the same company. Does anyone else agree with me on this? They think they can sugarcoat it with their lower listing fee's but they nearly doubled the final value fee's when they lowered those. Anyone know a way around paying fee's on the PayPal transaction? The mafia wouldn't even charge 15%. Its double taxation. They don't take into consideration the Selling price - the final value fee when the paypal fee is calculated. So the same dollar amount is taxed once at the 9% final value fee, then AGAIN at 5% at the paypal transfer. This is insane. Is anyone behind me on this????

Hi,
YES!!!! I just fired off a complaint to Paypal which is totally **bleep** in the wind! When I looked at the fees on a lower sale item, I just cried. I knew they had been doing this, but it finally pushed me over the edge. I am SICK and TIRED of being ripped off by these guys. They basically forced us to take Paypal. I mean what's the point? It's not bad enough that I lost my job, lost my **bleep** house and am now having to sell most of what I own. These greedy blood sucking jerks just keep kicking you when you're down! It's people like US who MADE them INSANELY RICH!! I have NO problem with anyone making a profit and a **bleep** good one at that, but this is extortion!! You are so rght in what you said! Thanks for posting! In this economy, eventually they will loose in the long run. At least one can hope. I used to love Ebay, but between their not allowing sellers to neg a jackass deadbeat buyer and this CRAP, it's just not worth it any more. Glad there is someone else out there who has had it too. : ( You're not alone my friend! (Sorry I am SO angry!)
And they "bleeped" me???? Geeze Louise! This is third grade!

You're not alone. I have about had it. Between non-paying bidders and Ebay taking away any recourse against horrible buyers, there's no point in this anymore. I used to love getting paid by mail, but Ebay & Paypal made it so it wasn't listed as a payment option anymore. That funneled all that extra money to them. How greedy can you get? I'm so discouraged and disgusted. What really gripes me is they charge a % fee on the total INCLUDING the shipping value. UNBELIEVABLE. I got some lame imbecilic answer from some Paypal hack explaining about how credit cards work. What?? How stupid do they think we are? Besides, it's DEBIT. NOT credit!

First a class action suit has been filed way back in 2002 (I think it was) and not a thing has been done with it...Second in your Ebay auction wording, have the winning bidder contact you before payment is made, and you can always work out some other form of payment such as money orders!!!! Third i think the idea of Ebay or Paypal charging fees on shipping cost is just plain greed on a company that has gotten to big for their own good. I do sell on Ebay but try finding another auction site that has as many buyers looking for your junk as Ebay!!!!! And with Ebay requiring that the seller send the package with delivery confimation thats a lot of crap i was told by my local post office that most offices don't even scan the item until it arrives at the location so what good is the confirmation if it's not tracked along the way for the buyer and me to know where the package is??? I will overcome the increased fees by charging more for postage and handleing fees, it may reduce my business a little but i'll still make money :>)

You have more energy than I do! : ) Good luck with your auctions. Hope you will do well. I'm just tired of messing with them. I miss the days when people were automatically allowed to choose how they wanted to pay. I was happy to get checks and money orders! Ebay used to be so much fun and a good way to make a few extra bucks and find some really cool stuff or unload some of your old treasures. Greed always manages to rear it's ugly head. Oh well, for me, it's time to move on. Good luck!

yes i whole hartedly agree and how is it that they can get away with this . As even Bill Gates was barred from such a monopoly in the early 2k with regarding the sale or leasing windows so he wouldn't have a monopoly . Why cant we have a choice of service providers to except money and be in the fair competion this country was built on ?

You are right and it is SO frustrating. I got some lame response when I sent a complaint. (Which is an exercise in futility.)
There is no fairness any more. Only greed. No one is complaining that they make a fair profit. Can't stay in business if you don't, but if WE can't make a dime, THEY eventually won't either. Yes, they DO hammer you for a percentage on the shipping, which was my biggest beef. The guy that responded said so. (Like I was too stupid to do the math and see that.) The more the postal rates go up, the more they charge US! How in hades does THAT make any sense?? I don't blame you for not doing it any more. As soon as I'm through getting rid of my crap, I am THROUGH with Ebay and Paypal. I have been on since January of 2000. I just don't want to play any more. : ( More and more people are coming to that point. What a shame. It was a good gig while it lasted and they made a fair profit. Now it's no fun and it's too much work for no money, by the time the unholy duo get through fileting us. I suppose I'll get kicked off of here sooner or later. Whatever.

AND don't forget, now EBAY will be charging us final value fees on shipping, too. Just like PayPay does. WRONG WRONG WRONG. EBAY OWNS PAYPAL AND NOW WILL GET PERCENTAGES ON EVERY PENNY WE TAKE IN. IS SHIPPING FREE WITH THE POST OFFICE?? **bleep** NO! WE PAY, SO WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO GIVE FREE SHIPPING TO CUSTOMERS? THIS IS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE AND I WANT TO JUST QUIT EBAY.
