I have been using PayPal per leaseagreement with my landlord for over a year with no 'fees' involved. For the past few times, I have receceived notice from him/her that an amount was deducted from the payment for PayPal 'fees'. (1) MY rent is $600.00/month. If 'late', another charge of almost $60.00 is addeded. So think, $660.00. This is paid using PayPal, like....SEND MONEY>PERSONAL>LIVING EXPENSE. My PayPal then SHOULD draw funds from my Bank Account. I get a 'confirm' question asking me if I am paying the fees to send. If I confirm 'yes' this amount is taken off the payment. So after notice from landlord of a 'short' payment, I had to send MORE money to cover fee. This now brings my rent to $675/month?? P.S. My PayPal is not linked to a debit/ credit card, so why is a fee charged at all to pay rent???

Hello cajunbaby,
Welcome to the Community .
When you send money from your PayPal account the receiver will be charged the fee. Transaction fees can range from 1.9% to 2.9% + $0.30 USD, and are assessed when the payment is made. If you receive a payment from outside your country, you're charged a 1.0% cross border fee. However, when you send personal payments using a credit card. The sender determines who pays the fee
There is no fee when you pay for a purchase or when you use your PayPal balance or bank account to send money or make a payment for the sender.
