I do greatly enjoy the convenience and the speed at which I receive payments from paypal. I'm not a business person, and don't sell a lot and I do realize the fees cut deeply into my "profit" when I do sell, but as a seller and a buyer, I appreciate the buyer protection plan (used successfully and quickly when a scammer tried to burn me!) and the complete communication I receive from paypal all around.
For those of you who are fed up with the amount of fees, remember that there is always the old fashioned way of selling without Ebay, or paypal....have a good old fashioned garage sale. My guess is you'll make a lot less in the long run.
Before you all freak out on me for my opinion, remember, I don't like the fees either. Not one bit. But I will enjoy the payment convenience and protection of my CC number more than I will agonize over the fees. When they become so high that I can no longer swallow the "bitter pill" of fees, I will change my ways of doing business. Until then, I appreciate the option.
