Donate with dropdown to designate where donation is to go

I haven't been able to find anything in the forum or documentation as to whether or not you can use a dropdown/select to desinate where you want your donation to go to.

Example:

Building Fund

Education

Paint

Historical Restoration

The donater would select what they want their donation to go to and then enter the donation amount.  Many organizations need this for accounting purposes.

Thanks!

Chris

Buy Now buttons have a similar feature under the "Add drop-down menu with price/option" setting.  While this is not currently an option with Donate buttons, you may be able to custom code it by using a non-hosted button.

If coding isn't a favorite of yours (I know it's not the easiest thing for me to do), you might look at either converting to Buy Now buttons, using separate Donate buttons for each area, or even asking the contributors to add a note to their payment stating what they would like the donation applied to.

I hope this helps!

If we do this with separate 'Donate' buttons, how do we specify that when they click on one button, that it goes to 'Building fund' vs. clicking on another button to designate 'Maintenance'?

The form action doesn't work when the html code is inserted in the tempate. It is a content management system.

I am using a Buy Now button instead of a donation button because I need to indicate what advertising medium the heard about the need for donations.

I'd appreciate the help.  Smiley Happy

I have the same question.  We have about 20 projects that a peson can donate to for our non-profit.  What is the best way that we can implement paypal?

I've looked into the buy now method, but then people can't choose how much money to put in.  We can only have designated amounts.

If I'd allowed to have multiple donation buttons, we may be able to make it work.  Is this a possibility?  For example, Diversity could have its own button, and Maintenence could have another.  And we could manage this all through one account.

I ended up creating a 'Donation' button for each of our ministries (where they can specify whatever amount they want, as well as, a separate 'Subscription' button for monthly repeating donations that they select from a drop down list.  You can take a look at our page at the following URL.  The page is a little busy looking, but it works just fine.

When you go to create your 'Donate' button, specify where you want the money to go in the "Organization Name/Service" box.  I created a button for 'General - Where Needed Most', 'Bogan's' Uganda', etc....  That's how I can tell which one they donated to.  Hope this helps.  If you need any additional clarification, just let me know.

You can actually click on any of our donate buttons to see how the screen will look for each button when a person chooses to give.  It doesn't require you to login to PayPal to see what the screen looks like.....only when you actually want to pay.
