need help with a dispute

I am wondering if anyone has any advice for me.  I paid $350 through paypal for a service that was never rendered. The Seller is not communicating with me or paypal, so I opened a dispute, which Paypal found in my favor. I just received an email from paypay saying that the echeck the seller sent was declined by his bank, so they will try again in three days.  My fear is that this guy is never going to pay paypay, so they can refund me.  I put this charge on my Amex card, and they have also opened a claim for me with paypal - now paypay wants me to close the original claim and go with the Amex claim.  But if I do that, I'm further behind, but if I close the Amex claim, I'll have to pay the bill.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Jax

Once you open a dispute with your credit card, the PayPal dispute should be automatically closed as PayPal has zero decision making rights over the dispute from that point forward.

Your chargeback with Amex will have to be processed for you to receive a refund as PP is now out of the deal.

Hope this helps

Thank you for the response, so my question is, if it were you, would you let Paypal finish the dispute or Amex?
