Credit Card Blunder?

Okay. Here's the situation. I had a person who works for me send an invoice through paypal. Two invoices actually. One for $25 and one for $165.98. I added a credit card to my account. Clicked on each invoices and paid. I then logged into my credit card account and saw where the two payments and an additional 1.00 payment was taken out.
A little while later, I get a message from the worker that they'd never been paid. they called paypal and were told that two payments were attempted, one in the amount of 24.00 and one in the amount of 25.00. And none in the amount of 165.98. the person explained that they had not sent any request in the amount of 24.00, and were told that my cc was denied on the payment. She emailed me and told me this.
I immediately called my cc company back and told them what she was told by paypal. The credit card company confirmed to me that they did not deny any payment request and that the two amounts, the 1.00 were showing as coming out for paypal and, in additon to that, two more 1.00 payments were listed.
After several rounds of calling between everyone, paypal is still saying they don't show the payments and my credit card is still showing on the account it's been taken out. I don't know what to do at this point. The credit card company keeps saying they've denied nothing and paypal says it was.
Any suggestions? I've asked the cc company to refund me since paypal says nothing was taken out but they said I have to wait for it to "drop off" the card in three days. Has anyone else had this problem?

The $1 payments mean nothing - they'll drop off on their own in a few days. It's Paypal's way of seeing if the card is legitimate and it's common in the industry.
It's possible that the payments to your co-worker are delayed in being posted - that's a glitch that's been happening for the past 6 weeks or so. If it is the glitch, the payments show up in 3-4 days.
It's also possible that the payments were sent to the wrong paypal account. Check where you sent it and have your co-worker check the email address they gave you.
