I just had a bank reversal notification on money owed to me and sent to me via PayPal. My friend said he meant to use a credit card , as he didn't have sufficient funds. Will PayPal investigate why reversal was made, and if for insufficient funds use alternate payment method?

Iif this was for a sale and if f you followed the Paypal seller protection plan you will be covered.
If this was just a friend sending you some money , then no you won't be covered.

Actually it's someone I don't know that well, and the payment was for his share of a condo rental, which I had paid for, and he owed me. I can document emails and rental receipt.
