[BUYER] International delivery confirmation for the dispute

I want to have a refund and file a international dispute.

What kind of "delivery confirmation" should I provide?

Tracking number? registerd? registered signed for? 

or simply sending through EMS?

I saw lots of topics about seller's delivery confirmation, which indicate tracking number doesn't work for the seller?! 

Is it the same case for the buyer?
