I sold a $1,200 professional mounted and authenticated autograph display of Babe Ruth signature, photo, and silver ignot that my late husband had purchased back in 1991. It was won in auction on eBay by a Scam Artist from Pompano Beach, Fla. for $1,800. His name is Ryan Leary, an executive from the MJ Simpson Construction Co. in Florida. He put in a dispute for receiving the item "significantly different that discribed," whereas he admitted receiving the display which I spent $50 to have wrapped by UPS, with unbroken glass cover yet he said the autograph was ruined by a mysterious shifting during it's mailing. HA! PayPal resolved it quickly siding with me! But alas, the CREEP had paid with the item on his Premier Creditcard, so he resubmitted a dispute and PayPal chickened-out and is now allowing him a partial refund of $800. I'll be damned if I will pay it! I had to cancel out my checking acct. and PayPal Creditcard so they can't take the money. that has caused me many problems. I won't go into it now but BELIEVE YOU ME IT'S A ROYAL PAIN! I'm now after 4 months of trouble using my last option to clear up this MESS! I have written the President of the PayPal corporation asking him to please correct my problem. Let's see if he is as SINCERE as he makes himself out to be in his ads. Will I get restitution for this PROBLEM? WE WILL SEE! B-E-W-A-R-E !!!

I agree that paypal does not back the sellers!!! I just got **bleep**ed out of 105 bucks due to paypal disputes. A buyer from eBay buys a ecu computer from me that came off of a working jeep that was removed and tested by a mechanic and shipped to the buyer and he says it did not work.... Well on a ecu computer it has 4 **bleep**s that the buy could have gutted my perfectly good computer and put his broken computer in.. "the swap" paypal says I can dispute it if I can tell if it has been altered.... For real???????? Like they are going to side with me.. I had 100 percent feedback on eBay till this guy **bleep**ed me on eBay and paypal... Closing my eBay account today!!! paypal acct when this guy sends his hunk of junk to me... sellers beware!!!!

these sites are as bad as craigslist now...I just sold a working USED laptop, the buyer emails me 3 weeks later and said it worked fine then died....she files with e bay, and its rejected, refiles with paypal and they offer a refund if she pays to return the laptop to me, 3 days later I get the laptop, parts stripped, broken screen..I call paypal and they tell me as long as they have proof UPS dropped a package at the door she gets a full refund...so Im out $250 + e bay and paypal fee's and I have a worthless laptop...NO SELLER PROTECTION FROM EITHER COMPANY

what did the photos show? the buyer has to show damage to the merchandise before they resolve a case. and, i have never heard of a partial refund unless both parties agree. it is either return the item - refund, keep the item - no refund

I honestly don't get many of you sellers.
Many of you feel that Paypal is the sole and final authority regarding these disputes. If there is common sense violations of seller/buyer interaction, then you stand a very good chance of prevailing in small claims court.
Small claims court judges don't have patience for the follies of large corporations, particularly when it impacts "the little guy" in an obviously abusive way, and if the claim is adequeted supported. I know a tremendous amount about small claims court, as well as commerce laws and regulations. Paypal is so easy to prevail against it isn't even funny.
Do not simply accept these practices by Paypal because they tell you to. Paypal is nothing more than a private company out to make money. They are subject to lawsuits and claims actions just like anyone else. And my research shows they have not faired well in past civil actions against them.
Again, you DON'T have to accept a Paypal decision. Document and sue.

If Paypal did rule in your favor then you should have been covered under paypal double jeopardy clause.
Paypal in the past said that they would cover sellers from this type of chargeback.
You need to call paypal and and let them know that their 2nd ruling was wrong.
