I was just charged $44 from oath holdings. I checked it out and it seems they are a subsidiary of Verizon. Anyone know anything about this?

you would think that it would be more accurately depicted to eliminate the confusion. Very disappointing.

Like others replying to this topic, I was charged by Oath Holdings Inc. I was charged $19.95 for "Ad-Free Yahoo Email." The merchant information provided (see below) on my statement from PayPal showed the merchant information as Yahoo, and provided Yahoo's telephone number, etc.

I called the number provided (which is Yahoo) and told them about this transaction, and they advised "that is not a charge from Yahoo." Why is it that PayPal is accepting transactions from a vendor/merchant who does not accurately nor properly identify themselves and provide us correct information so we CAN contact the vendor directly?

Follow up on my other post and answers to this topic. Oath Holdings Inc is in fact, Yahoo.

First, be sure to follow the advice shared above and cancel any recurring payment you may have set up previously. PayPal brought this to my attention and can help you if you don't know how.

Second, go to paymentsdotmaildotyahoodotcom and put in your Yahoo email address. It will bring up any services for which you are automatically being charged by Yahoo. You can cancel any future automatic renewals, but if you have already been charged, they do not and will not offer any refund. PayPal can't do anything about that if you signed up for the service, and Yahoo/Oath Holdings is totally uninterested to help with the problem.

I'm moving my email service.

I got charged $19.99 for some unkown reason at first I thought it had something to do with an old email account.

I had but it didn't, I still recieve mail sometimes with the yahoo account but when I try to acces my yahoo acount it says I don't have one.

I also googled Oth Holding and it did state they where a subsidery of Verizon and it also said they where part of Yahoo.

so I went to the paypal resolution

filed an unauthorized payment after about 4 hours I got a email saying my claim was denied.

I then called Paypal, and the first guy I talked to said he would pass me on to a specialist.

the specialist took care of the problem and I got my $19.99 back and removed any automatic payments to them.

He also stated that this was part of a user agreement that dated back to 1012 with Verizon.

I was also charged by Oath Holdings. I am a a Flickr Pro user and I think this is what the charge is related to. However I can no longer access my Flickr account and all attempts to contact Yahoo about this gets no replies.

I was charged $34.99 on my PayPal account by Oath Holdings which I did not recognize.  Within the message from PayPal it indicated that the payment was for Yahoo Free Mail (ad free email) which I did recognize. I recently renewed my Yahoo Free Mail account. If you do not recognize any transaction on your PayPal account, please be sure to read the entire PayPal message. You will most likely find a description that you recognize. If not, be sure to change your PayPal password and security questions and report the incident through the Resolution Center.

My money was not taken from my PayPal account but from my Google pay through an email that was sent to me. I did however do a little digging and traced the ip address of the sender. In the results were oath holdings apparently verizon. Now the email that was sent had another address attached to it.. This person is using Verizon's up address to cover their personal one up. I will do a little more research and find out the original ip that will give me their true organization name and location.. I let you guys know when I find out..
