When I was under 18 I opened a Paypal account, now I cannot confirm it with my birth certificate.

My account has been closed and to gain access again I must submit my birth certificate and bank statement, however I made the mistake of creating the account when I was under 18. I want to shut down this account and create a legal one (as I am now 18), however I am not sure if I can do that. What is going to happen?

You won't be able to close an illegally opened paypal account once paypal have limited it due to it being an underage account.

You would have to contact customer services and ask if you can open another account now that you are 18.

BUT they may not allow you to as you have already broken their rules and user agreement once.
