I recently sold a phone on Gumtree. I was told by the buyer that he would pay me through paypal, I then received fake emails that appeared to come from the same address as the real paypal. I had already sent the item before I called paypal to see why my money wasn't showing up and they informed me the emails weren't from them. What can I do to get my money or the phone back? He is in another state so the police said they had limited ability.

Sorry to tell you this but you might have to take this one. Unless there is insurance or any type of coverage on the phone it's over and that sucks.
