Resolution Center Closing Case Tomorrow

I opened a case for a purchase that was sent to me that arrived defective. The buyer has indicated that there is no problem returning the item and Ive sent it back with tracking information through PayPal. Unfortunately the item is going to arrive on the same day or the day after the case is scheduled to close. 

 

My question is do I need to escalate this case in order to keep everything in check or am i able to hold the seller to their word that they would refund me the full amount even after the case closes?
