I received a payment request from someone I'd never heard of for $65 with a transaction ID that I didn't recognise. I contacted the person who sent the request via the attached email and got the response, "Do not be concerned. I am raising funds for the red cross. You were probably on a mailing list. If you can help fine, if not disregard." The payment request was not for the red cross it was for a person's personal account. I don't have anywhere to report this, as it seems dodgy to me but I was wondering if anyone knows if red cross legitimately request donations this way? Ive never donated to red cross through PayPal so not sure why a request specifically for $65 would be sent.
