Hello,

I recently made a purchase from a website that looked completely legit. It also allowed payments through PayPal, so I figured that it had to be a legit site, because I could just dispute the charge and they would have to give me my money back if it were a scam.

After the purchase, I received no e-mail confirmation and the sites e-mail addresses all returned back saying they don't exist. So, I gathered all the info and made a claim, expecting a full dispute process to take place. I was wrong. PayPal never contacted the seller and almost immediately denied my claim, without asking for more information, or anything. So, now I'm in the appeal process and already submitted my information. Now, just today the scam website actually went down altogether and there is no way to even include this updated information within my appeal. Most likely, it will just get denied again, without a solid reason as to why and without contacting the seller, or asking me for more information.

PayPal never used to work like this and I'm guessing that their fallout with eBay probably had something to do with it, as they aren't being able to steal millions of dollars from people being forced to use their "services".

I'm **bleep**... but luckily it was only $24.99. If it were more, I'd be irate.  Guess it's the price you pay for learning a lesson about a company that has gone down the drain. Don't think they will protect you in case of scammers. They wont!
