Owthin Super Zoom Telescope

I fell for an add on Facebook for a super-zoom telescope and ended up getting what was basically a toy and nothing like the item shown in the ad. Disputed the charge on my PP account and got a note back after two weeks that my dispute was being denied because the item was not substantially different than what was advertised. But the item WAS very different. I also have been corresponding with the vendor and they've offered me a 50% discount just to keep the item, which I believe only bolsters my case. I will absolutely appeal PP's decision and do so within the 10 days allotted. My question to the community is: What are the best ways to get PayPal to charge-back a vendor who may be scamming customers with fraudulent advertising claims and send out products completely different than advertised?  Does it help to file a dispute with the credit card company on file with PP?

@rbs303 - sorry to hear that happened to you as well. I, too, ordered a telescope and received a piece of plastic trash. In the end I opened a complaint with the BBB and, low and behold, a week later I received a "customer appreciation credit" in the exact amount that I disputed. Before that, my complaint had been denied.

I hope something works out for you!
