I've had multiple fraudulent Paypal transactions across several personal bank accounts, these bank accounts have never been linked to Paypal to my knowledge but it looks like someone has created a Paypal account and tries using different BSB and account numbers because there are several deposits made into the account and then a couple days later several deductions are made - the amounts increase over time. This has happened to the corporate accounts of companies I have worked for in the past, and usually we call the Paypal helpdesk and provide them with the BSB and account numbers affected and Paypal places a block on the accounts to ensure no one can ever create a Paypal account with these bank details. However due to the coronavirus Paypal has closed the Helpdesk hotline and I am unsure as to what would be the best way to place a block on these bank accounts being linked to Paypal in the future.
Our bank can only place blocks on that specific Paypal transaction account, and every time that occurs the fraudster just creates a new paypal account with the same bank details hence why the block directly by Paypal is vital. Any help or suggestions on who to contact would be appreciated.
