Dewaltset.ga Dewalt scam site

BUYERS BEWARE My husband found a tool he wanted by googling it. It appeared to be a Dewalt site, and had a 'lock' in the address bar. My receipt came up in an Asian language so I searched for the site and found out there is a scam. Within minutes I tried to cancel the purchase but it didn't work. I tried to lock my PayPal or block it before it went through - but couldn't find a way to do it. I filed a dispute and PayPal denied it.

Instead of rushing to do things why not ask first?

We could have warned you about any scam China web sites or Social Media ads that come up on google search.

You can't cancel a completed payment unless the merchant cancel it for you.

You can open a dispute for non receipt of item OR item received but not as described.

So best to wait and file the correct dispute if you want buyer protection.

I guess you filed unauthorised?

A dispute for an unauthorised transaction is telling paypal that your account was hacked and used without your consent to make that transaction.
Paypal would check IP addresses and devices and close the dispute if it was you that made the transaction.

You are only allowed 1 dispute per transaction so the only way you can get a second dispute opened is to contact Paypal (when and if you can) and see if they will open a second dispute for you.
They may decline citing policies but if you say what happened then they might open a second dispute for you.

If not then if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then consider contacting your card issuer and see if they will help you with a chargeback?

I also fell for this stupid scam.  I should have been more careful but now not sure what to do.  I did file as unauthorized because that was the only option at the time.  I have been denied 2x by PayPal and they do not have a representative available when I call.  I have disputed the charge on my Capital One Mastercard but am sure that PayPal will immediately decline.  If anyone has any luck please let me know.

I too fell for this scam and incorrectly filed a dispute under unauthorized activity and was declined.

This apparently is a well known scam as documented here on PayPal.

Why is PayPal pushing back on these disputes?

Why is PayPal allowing this vendor to continue to operate?

What course of action do I have at this point?

Please advise.

I received an envelope with a sleeve for a flash card. Nothing else. I took screenshots of the item we purchased and our invoice at the time of purchase. WhenI received the envelope, I photographed everything, including the label under another shipping label that has the tracking number on my original email from the seller (and is differentfrom the tracking number on the label that actuallybrought it to my house. I called PayPal and talked to a human. He reopened the case and advised me to put as much info in the response as possible. I am waiting for a decision.

I'm pleased to report that I was able to easily connect with a PayPal Associate whom was very helpful.  My initial, incorrectly filed, resolution which was closed has been reopened and my PayPal Buyer Protection has been activated. I was assured that PayPal will handle the issue from here.

My lesson(s) learned:

If a deal looks to good to be true is probably isn't.

If you run into what you suspect is a fraudulent vender, do not pick the "Unauthorized Transaction" dispute process.  Select the "Did Not Receive" process.

If the deal looks to good, simply Google the website. After doing so I was amazed at how many fell prey to the scam.  It is a very slick site. But there are a few clerical errors. What keyed me to the problem was the lack of a shipment tracking number and the PayPal account for the vendor contained no reference to DeWalt tools.  Nor was there a description of the product I paid for in the transaction details.

DO NOT USE dewalt.ga.com as a supplier!

Everyone should file a fraudulent case with the USPS inspection service, If everyone would do it maybe we could get this site shut down. Remember they sent out something you did not order, so it's mail fraud. Keep passing this on.

Same thing happened to me. What I don't understand is how they can use PayPal as a payment option and then scam so many ppl without PayPal stepping in. I now can not trust PayPal as a secure payment option. I usually will not purchase anything online without using PayPal because of the security that they provide. As soon as I saw that the payment went to an "Amy Golden" I knew that something was wrong, so I opened a dispute right away. The case was closed even though the seller never responded. I'm sure that PayPal has a lot of disputes to attend to, but when there is a Group of customers disputing the same person/people then It should take precedence over the rest.
