Coursera course purchase via Paypal

Hellow,

  I have recently payed for a course in Coursera website by using Paypal.

   The issue I've encountered is that after selecting paypal for the payment method, I was not directed to Paypal's

   Website, thus I thought that the payment was not charged...

   I would like to understand if this can be, meaning, paypal can charge me even if I did not authorize the payment/transaction 

   By entering my password in Paypal's website.
