Authentic Louis Vuitton Wallet

I bought a wallet that said Authentic Louis Vuitton Wallet. Offered a price and was accepted. Received the wallet and inspected the authenticity. After inspecting, found out the wallet was not authentic. Contacted the seller that I wish to return. They asked for a reason. I told them the wallet was not authentic Louis Vuitton. I have a lot of authentic store bought LV bags and wallets and all have serial numbers but this wallet does not have the serial number. Also, this wallet smell of leather, where as my store bought LV does not. The leather was different from the LV I own. The seller said there is nothing wrong with their wallet. They accepted the return minus shipping. I mailed the wallet back with insurance and cost me $90 plus dollars.
Question: What do i do in this situation ? This is my first time returning an item. Why would the seller say authentic when the item is not ? Should the seller have done research to find out if the wallet is authentic or not before putting it on EBAY ? Shouldn’t the seller be responsible for incorrectly labeling an item ? Now, I have to shoulder all shipping expenses.

Instead of requesting a return you should have scrolled down further on ebay and selected the item recieved but not as described option ie an ebay dispute.

Then ebay would have requested the seller to send you a return shipping label.

If you filed a paypal dispute instead then you could have claimed some of the shipping costs back if you had activated this link at some point before the transaction.
