So, I recently changed my name on PayPal because I was setting up a donations page and was afraid my name would be exposed. After figuring out my name wouldn't be exposed I tried changing my name back, it asked for images of verification this time, which I provided. PayPal then restricted my account due to the name not being the same. Wasn't that the whole point? I was trying trying change it, why would they restrict my account because of that

Sadly you opened a legal financial account with a ?fake name.

Names can be changed on an account in the following circumstances:

A legal name change

A minor misspelling

And in the case of an account for a registered business, a change in the designated contact for the company.

Changing from a fictitious name to a legally recognized name is not something that is supported.
