eBay - Payment failed

Hello, whenever I try to purchase something on eBay I get this message as I click checkout in my basket. 

Every single time, why?

Well it would help to give some info, we can't just guess.

whilst on eBay i literately click on my basket then I 'proceed to checkout' and it gives me that message every time

"We can't process your PayPal payment.

• Please contact PayPal customer service for further assistance."

Nothing else happens I just cannot purchase anything, why?

Do you have a UK paypal account?

What funding source are you using?

What OTHER funding sources do you have linked to your paypal account?

Are you using funds in your paypal balance?

Are those funds cleared or pending?

Is it an international transaction?

Have you added your paypal account and linked it to ebay?

Have you verified your email address?

Does the seller actually accept paypal on his listing?

I am in the UK

I do have a UK paypal account.

I'm using my bank ( NATWEST )

My paypal balance is zero, so technically I'm paying through paypal directly from my bank. 

The transaction is to a seller based in the UK as well. 

They do accept paypal payments

My paypal is linked to eBay and my email is verified
