You can.
However from experience with it, it's not a good idea. There's ALWAYS problems and issues with my account because of the fact i'm using a prepaid debit card.

Hi dolphinsgirl, and welcome to the forums!
The PayPal system is designed to work with traditional Credit Cards, which are associated with your identity and your mailing address. Use of prepaid cards may be permitted by the system if it does not immediately detect that they're prepaid, but sooner or later the card will likely fail validation on an individual transaction when you most want to use it. Additionally, if you ever get a refund from a seller, it could go directly back to the card. If the card is no longer in your possession, you may have a very difficult time trying to retrieve it from the card issuer.
If you're interested in a prepaid option that's designed to work with PayPal, try Green Dot MoneyPak. It can't be used for getting verified, but it is a way to get cash into your account.
I hope this helps!

Hi JohnBellio18, and welcome to the forums!
Prepaid cards have never been recommended for use with PayPal. The financial instruments added to your PayPal account need to be able to pass verification, which requires registration to your name and address. The system will at times not notice at first that the card is a prepaid card, but oftentimes at a later point it will fail validation. Funds cannot be transferred from any type of card to your PayPal balance.
The Green Dot MoneyPak is designed for use with PayPal as a safe and secure prepaid source of funds. For all other prepaid cards, direct payment to a merchant would be your remaining option.
I hope this helps!
