Hey there claireashcroft,
When you’re not being given the option to us your bank account if is likely that your card has not yet been confirmed or maybe you don't have a card registered yet.
Your card is your back up funding source on PayPal should anything happen and the funds don't clear from your bank account.
If you haven’t added one yet please do so through your Profile tab and then follow the steps below in order to confirm the card.
To Link and confirm your card:
1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click 'Profile' near the top of the page.
3. Click 'Credit/Debit Cards' under 'Financial Information'.
4. Click 'Link and Confirm My Card'.
5. Click 'Save and Continue'.
Once you have the details from your statement, you can then confirm your card by following these steps:
1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click 'Confirm my debit or credit card' in the ‘Notifications’ box.
3. Enter the required information.
4. Click 'Submit'.
If you have any problems doing this let us know.

Hey there claireashcroft,
If you have done all this then I would need to take a closer look at your account to see what might be causing the issue.
I will take this off line, review your account and then contact you further.

I have the same problem. I am trying to transfer money to relatives in the USA and want to use instant transfer from my Bank account but it is only giving me the option of echeque or card funding. I have two confirmed bank accounts and two confirmed cards linked to my account so what is the problem ?

I have the same problem.....i have a verified bank account with sufficient funds, and a verified associated credit card kinked to the account; yet paypal will ONLY let my payments go if from credit card or e cheque , not by instant transfer.......
WHY?

Hey guys,
If you have verified everything on your account, it could be the security system in PayPal itself.
You’re probably best contacting PayPal directly for a review of your account. From reviewing it they can give you a more specific answer.
