I have had a paypal account for ten years and not had any problems, last week I changed my email address as had closed my old email account,I sold items and yesterday noticed buyers that have paid me using paypal as they normally do only this time it says payment pending, and 'claim your payment' to claim my payment I have to create a paypal account?? Even though I can log in using the new email address and it shows my balance before the last lot of sales went through.??
I have tried changing the email and making sure it is confirmed and is my primary email but it shows no pending transactions they are waiting for me to open another account??
I checked and changed my email on ebay they are now both the same, ebay states my paypal email is same as ebay email !!
please help I am going mad trying to figure it out!!

hey there kirdty822001,
I have moved your post here as my above response will help you with your issue. Please go through the steps to see your email address on your listing as it sounds like your old one may have been used.

I recently had to change my primary emai address and remove the other one. This was because I no longer have access to the email account I used when I signed up. I also changed it in my ebay account. Unfortunately I just assumed that ebay would update my active listings, and send the new email address when I invoiced buyers. Well that didnt happen and the people who won my auctions were invoiced with the old email address.
Are you with me so far???
I cannot claim the payments they made and post them their items because I cant confirm the email address where they were sent.
Because I had removed the preiviouse email account completely, when I tried to add it on pay pal again to claim my payments they wanted me to confirm it. Well I cant confirm it because I no longer have any access to that email address.
I have tried all day to reinvoice my buyers with the new email address but just cannot do it.
I have contacted all of them and some of them have said that the payment has left their account so it must be in myne. I can see the payments but cannot claim them. I have been going round in circles all day with ''LOUISE'' pay pals virtual, rather vague automated assistant.
PLEASE is there anyone who can help me sort this out. ... I realise I should never have assumed ebay would update my listings . So its all my own fault, But I just set up my sellers account aweek and a half ago and really could do without negative reviiews allready.

i am having the same problem too. Expect ZERO help from paypal, they are in it for the money, if the money has gone to an inactive account wll they will just keep the money, simple as that. I wish i had known about this scam before selling anything

hi, paypal have got back to me and said the buyer can cancel payments paid to inactive email accounts and then they can purchase the item again.....or not.
Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding payments that are not showing
on your PayPal account.
Upon checking the account, it is showing that there is a possibility
that the email address linked to the items that you sold on eBay is
still the old email that is not linked on your PayPal account. Since
the email address is not linked on your PayPal account the system cannot
recognise the payments that were sent and leaving the payments unclaimed
or pending. Please note that to receive payments, you should make sure
that the email address on your eBay account, PayPal account and eBay
listings are the same. The procedure will be long and complicated but
will surely rectify the concern.
First, check where or what email address the payment was sent.
Here's how to find the email address that was used in your eBay listing:
-Find the item you sold and click 'Sell a similar item' under 'More
Actions'.
-Go to the section 'Decide how you'd like to be paid', which displays
the email address where the payment was sent. (Please take note of the
email linked to the item sold)
*If the email address is active, please add and confirm the email
address on the PayPal account.
Add the email address to your PayPal account, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3. Click ‘Email’ in the ‘Account Information’ column.
4. Click ‘Add’.
5. Enter your email address and click ‘Save’.
Confirm the email address:
1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3. Click ‘Email’ in the ‘Account Information’ column.
4. Select the email address that you want to confirm.
5. Click ‘Confirm’.
After clicking on 'Confirm:
1. Log In to your email address inbox and open the message from PayPal.
2. Find and select the link reading "Click here to confirm your
additional email address."
3. A new window will appear. Enter your PayPal password and click
"Confirm"
*If the email address is inactive, please contact the buyer and ask the
buyer to cancel the payment and then send an invoice directly to your
buyers PayPal account to instantly receive the payment on your account.
I have provided instructions below on how the sender of the payment can
cancel the payment made on a different email address.
1. Log in to your PayPal account at http://www.paypal.co.uk/
2. Click on 'History' near the top of the page.
3. Select 'Payments Sent' from the drop down menu.
4. Select the dates by using the date boxes and click 'Search'.
5. Click 'Cancel' in the Action column of the unclaimed transaction.
Note: You may only cancel a payment that has a status of 'Unclaimed' and
has a 'Cancel' button in the action column).
The funds from the cancelled payment will be returned original payment
source.
To use your PayPal account to send an invoice, please follow these
steps:
1. Log in to your account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click on ‘Request Money’ near the top of the page.
3. You can choose to ‘Create an Invoice’ by clicking on this option near
the top of the page.
4. Choose ‘New Invoice’ from the ‘Select Template’ drop down list and
click ‘Continue’ to start using the invoice tool.
5. Complete the form with the requested information and click
‘Continue’.
6. Review the confirmation screen and click ‘Send Invoice’.
The recipient will receive an email informing them of your request for
payment which contains a link. After clicking the link, the recipient
can log into their existing PayPal account, sign up for a new account or
enter their credit card information to pay the money request. Once the
recipient pays you, the money will appear in your PayPal account
balance.
Thank you for choosing PayPal.
Yours sincerely,
Joms
PayPal
hope this helps..........
