payment being processed

I sold an item on ebay and the buyer sent the funds to my paypal account on the 17th August. i can see on ebay that the "payment is being processed". How long will it be until the funds reach my account??

Welcome to the Community!

It sounds to me that this payment is trying to be sent to an old or inactive email address. 

Here’s how to find the email address you used in your eBay listing:

1. Go to http://www.ebay.com/ and log in to your account.
2. Click ‘My eBay’ at the top of the page.
3. Click ‘Sold’ under ‘Activity’.
4. Click the item you sold.
5. Click ‘Sell a similar item’.

The email address you used in your listing is under ‘Decide how you’d like to be paid’.

If this email address is not associated with your PayPal account, you need to add and validate the address before you can receive a payment.

Here’s how you add an email address to your PayPal account:

1. Go to http://www.paypal.co.uk/ and log in to your account.
2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3. Click 'Update' beside 'Email'.
4. Enter your new email address and click ‘Save’.

Here’s how you confirm your email address:

1. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
2. Click 'Update' beside 'Email'.
3. Select the email address you want to confirm and click ‘Confirm’. We will send you an email.
4. Click the link in the email to complete the confirmation process.  

If you don't have access to the email address anymore, you will need to ask your buyer to cancel the payment from their account and then to resend the money to your correct email address using the Send Money tab from their PayPal account.
