Transfering money from UK to family in Australia

I have just opened a Paypal account, because I want a way to send money from the UK to my daughter in Australia. Is this a good medium? How much is the total % deduction from my money? Does it compare well with other charges. Do banks charge on top for using PayPal?

That was the only advice i could give rude person as i am not going to take up time to work it all out for them especially as i may work it out wrongly.

At least i took the time to reply and point them in the only helpful direction i could.

But feel free to give them a ball-park figure on costs as i can see you have given up your own time to sort lots of peoples problems on this board as i have.... or should that read you haven't??
