I bought an item through ebay from a new seller with a feedback score of 0 and paid straight away, Paypal says the payment is completed but ebay says the payment is still processing. It has said this for a week. Ebay have been no help saying it is Paypal. They told me to tell the seller they must have got the email address wrong, and that I should tell the seller to send me an invoice through Paypal and for me to pay that way. But the seller says this would be against ebay rules and won't do this. They want to just keep waiting for it to go through which I feel clearly will not happen.
Paypal have been no help so I don't know what to do. Why can't Paypal contact the seller themselves? The seller won't listen to the advice I have had to relay to them and they clearly don't get ebay or paypal as they are new to it all. i've never had this problem before so I'm completely stuck and any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Ask the seller to Go to their sold page on Ebay, find the transaction, click sell similar and scroll down to where their ppal email address is and double check it is correct without any spelling mistakes there might be a wrong digit
Ppal wont intervene a transaction unless there is a dispute
The seller could ask for advice themselves via "customer support "chat with us" or come on here for advice like yourselves
Explain to them which Im sure you have that you know they want to do the right thing but they need advice as they are new

I tried the advice above but unfortunately the seller says his email address is right. They still aren't bothered and think it will just suddenly go through. I don't want to lodge a dispute as I really want the item but the problem is the seller who is new to ebay doesn't seem to understand there's a problem at all and its been pending for a week now.
I'm wondering if it is because they are new to paypal and ebay- does it mean they have to wait a month before they receive any money or something?

Ok if its correct on the listing ask them to check in their ppal account and ask if it says completed
Have they received an email from ppal to say they have received payment?
Is their ppal email address the same as their Ebay ppal address
If they are a new seller yes they will have the new sellers hold, but if they have received your payment they still have to send your item within 7 days by ppal rules
Have you received confirmation from ppal that you have sent a payment?

I've emailed the seller again explaining, so fingers crossed he'll send the item now as I've been getting nowhere.
