Need to refund payment - now its saying "Transaction ID Not valid"

Hi,

I need to refund a payment to a friend who sent it from his business account by mistake.

 

When either of us click the "details" of the transaction we get the error:

"Invalid or missing transaction ID. Please select again"

 

He created an invoice for me to pay as a means of refund instead. When I try to pay the invoice it just cycles back through when i click "pay now". No money is leaving the account each time. It fails with no kind of error showing, just the loop.

 

The money is showing as available in my account, and the transaction is "complete"

 

Can you help us slove this please?

Hi Bwray,

 

Welcome to the Community!

 

It sounds to me that you might be trying to click on details beside the wrong transaction. If you try clicking on the details icon beside your friends name, this should show the correct information.

 

If you are still facing difficulties, you could try sending a payment directly to your friend by clicking the Send Money tab from your PayPal account. Once you do this, you can then send the money to your friend as a personal or gift transaction.
