I dont understand the 1.4% to 3.4% + £0.20 GBP* charges. If im selling an item for £1000 would i just charge the 3.4% (£34 plus 20p) or would i charge £34 plus 20p for every single pound??

The 1.4 i believe is for those people with micropayments account.
You pay 3.4% + (x1) 20p payment as well.
BE VERY CAREFUL selling such an expensive item and using paypal.......lots of scams about.
Also make sure you insure it well before you send it.

Huh? You don't pay more than the item is worth in fees, not sure i understand your question.
The fee you will pay on paypal will be £34.20 so they deduct that first and put the balance 965.80 into your paypal balance.
