Direct Debit Mandate

Hello,

Over the last two months when reading my bank statement there has been a few payments going out to paypal saying 'Direct Debit Payment to Paypal Payment REF *************, Mandate ****'

The Payments have been strange amounts, for example this month there was ones for, £1.20, £1.49, £5.23 and £11.25

But the strange thing is that the £5.23 was refunded to me on the same day. All of these payments out to paypal all have happened within 3 days and i have checked  my paypal account and i havn't bought anything for these amounts during these days and i dont have any direct debits set up. Could i be hacked? or what is it? please help.

P.S all '*' are numbers and letters that i have removed for security

Hi szaszek,

Thanks for posting on the Community Forum and sorry to hear about this.

As advised previously, we would definitely recommend changing your account's password and security questions straight away, and reporting the transaction in question from your registered PayPal account. Here's how to report an issue to us:

  1. Go to www.paypal.com/uk and log in to your account.
  2. Click Resolution Centre near the top of the page.
  3. Click Dispute a Transaction.
  4. Select 'Unauthorised transaction: I did not authorise a recent transaction.' and click Continue.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

We offer 100% protection on unauthorised transactions made using your account.

If you have any other questions at all, do let us know.

Thanks,

Sophie
