Hello there,
I've had a bit of a read but found no definitive answer to my question. Hopefully I'm not missing something really obvious..
I have an online store selling prints based in the UK. Its run using opencart software and I sell to the UK and Europe so have items listed in both GB pounds and Euros. My PayPal account is set up to automatically convert any Euro payments to GBP.
What I am wondering is if I'd be better off having a balance in Euros and then converting when I withdraw funds to my bank rather than converting on every transaction. Do I only pay one conversion fee if I do it this way? The transaction costs are meaning that I make less off my EU customers than I do from the UK ones and my margins aren't great to start with.
Alternatively, is there a way I can make the EU customers pay the currency calculation rather than myself? They do if they pay in GBP rather than Euros via the site. Should I just remove the Euro currency option from my site?
