withdrawal request being held over for 24 hrs while PP review it?

Just made a withdrawal request and got the message: Your withdrawal request has been held over for 24 hours while we review it for 'security reasons'. Never had this before in 6 years. Anyone know why? Are others getting this nonsense?

I've been using them for years, hundreds of transactions & I've just had this nonsense too. Not happy in no way describes what I feel right now....

Paypal have now told me 2 stories on this, the first said it was a 'glitch' and the second said this was 'normal practice'. Typcial useless responses. THey contradict themselves constantly so you never know what to believe.

This has happened to me, tried to withdraw £30 on Friday, was initially told it would take 21 hours, then received an email saying 72 hours now i have another one saying 7 days! it is a joke, PayPal are keeping hold of our money to earn themselves interest while all their members go without, as soon as i get my money back im leaving and will never use this sham of a service ever again

This has happened to me too this morning, Payment received in and have made the withdrawal with the same 24hour checking comment received. I know that everyones money is important to them - mine is towards my wedding payment so really need to know what is happening.

Please can a Paypal representative please comment on this - I am worried I will lose both the money and my venue now if it goes beyond 24 hours as it has to others.

Exact same thing happened to me Sunday 16th - I am waiting to hear what has happened to my money!

Same thing happened to me yesterday ! Interesting to note that Pay Pal had no issues with deducting it's own exhorbitant commission, immediately. No 'security issues' there, then. Whose money is it, anyway? Lack of any real explanation from Pay Pal is high-handed, disgustingly rude and totally uncaring towards the customers from whom they derive their income.

And yet I received another e-bay payment this morning, made another withdrawl request & it went into my bank account within the hour!! So it looks like I'm not much of a security risk then! 

What the **bleep** are you playing ay Paypal? Stop giving us this bull about security reviews & release ALL of OUR money NOW!!!

What is going on? I am so disgusted by the service provided by PP or lack of rather. FUMING!!!! That PP think they have the right to hold on to my money to build their interest, which seems to be the case from what I have read in this forum. I have called them in Luxembourg to try and resolve the issue. After speaking to three very incompetent members of staff I was told they can do nothing and that I would just have to wait for my own money that I have worked for. I asked why my account was under under review and told me THEY CAN'T TELL ME FOR SECURITY REASONS, then they told me its a random check, then they told me everyone has to go through it. When I explained that I knew this not to be true. I was told that I have been told what I have been told and he asked me what more he wants me to say?... SERIOUSLY, REALLY. Being the account holder I offered to help with their enquiries to speed up their make believe process. Suprisingly they had nothing to ask me. They fobbed me, still waiting for a call back, have made three transactions for withdrawal and had to wait 72 hours for them all. F***ED OFFF, BIG TIME. I have done everything asked of me my account is verified SO WHAT IS THE F***KING ISSUE??? I am using the same account, same pc and the money is coming from the same place PP IS UNBELIEVABLE. WHAT CAN WE DO TO PUT A STOP TO THIS NONSENSE? I am sick of going without because they are delaying my payments for a reason unbeknown to any of us. F**CK PP
